Strategic Planning/Policy Development for Communities:
EntreWorks can help communities design effective economic development action plans focused on entrepreneurial development or other objectives. We believe that entrepreneurs will be the economic engine of America's communities in the 21st century. Yet, entrepreneurs do not respond to the traditional menu of economic development programs. We have years of experience in bridging this gap, and helping leaders design programs and policies that support "home-grown" businesses and build healthy, vibrant communities.
Legislative Advocacy:
If you need to have your voice heard in Washington or in state capitols, we can help with crafting your message, identifying key audiences, and delivering that message. We have successfully built bi-partisan coalitions to support creation and re-authorization of new economic development programs as well as major improvements to policies affecting military base redevelopment, public private partnerships, and capital access for small businesses.
Training:
Successful entrepreneurial development strategies require that communities embrace a "do it yourself" ethos. But doing it yourself requires training in how to do it. EntreWorks can help train community leaders to design and implement effective economic development strategies. Erik Pages is the lead entrepreneurship trainer for the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and other leading associations. In addition, he has designed and presented training modules to community leaders from more than 40 states.
Non-Profit Management/Start-Up:
We have experience in start-up and management of non-profit organizations. Erik Pages has helped lead the creation of two new non-profits in the past five years and can assist with all aspects of the start-up process.
Fundraising:
Effective strategies require money to pay for them. We have more than 10 years of experience raising funds from individual donors, government agencies, and foundations, including the Rockefeller Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. We can help you design fund-raising strategies and prepare grant proposals.
Communications/Writing:
Effective economic development is not just about crafting good policies. It also requires effective communications. If you need assistance with research, speechwriting, or other communications, we can help. Erik Pages has written one book and more than forty reports, articles, and book chapters on issues related to technology, business trends, and economic development. For the past three years, he has written a regular on-line column on business trends that appears on the Entrepreneur.com website and other outlets across the U.S. He is also available to address town meetings, conferences, or other convenings of business leaders, economic development practitioners, non-profit groups and others. Our presentations can include keynote speeches, group facilitation, or detailed hands-on training.
